Should The NFL Super Bowl Be A Series Of Games?
The Super Bowl is one of the biggest athletic events of the year. Fans put on their team’s jerseys and colors and prepare the best finger foods known to man, but what about the fans whose team is playing in the game? The fans that have been following their team all year long, shouldn’t they have the chance to see their team play in person?
Every other sport we have, besides the Fifa World Cup, finishes their season with a series of championship games: NHL, MLB and even golf!
Yet the Super Bowl is one game, one day, at a neutral stadium. If you want a chance to go you have to buy your tickets so far in advance that you don’t even know whether or not your team is playing.
So why not have the Super Bowl as a 3 game series? First game gets played at one team’s home stadium, second game gets played at the other team’s home stadium, and THEN the third game is played at a neutral location.
There’s enough time in between the last game of the playoffs and the Super Bowl that each stadium would be able to do what they need to to prepare for the game. This would allow for each team and stadium, that earned their right and way into the Super Bowl, to make money off the game.
The NFL would be making more money because there are more games, and it gives the fans, who show their dedication all season long, the opportunity to see their team battle it out for the championship in person.
What do you think? Does the Super Bowl work as it is or could there be changes made that benefit everyone involved?
